Walking with Poles GROUP

This GROUP is for folks aged 50+ who seek safe, gentle exercise that involves walking in small groups around Heritage Place Mall, for the small fee of $5 per week, paid upon arrival!  

(You may walk longer afterwards, if you have your own poles!)

This GROUP is NOT just for folks who own a pair of ‘walking poles’; it is also for those who wish to try walking with POLES (& learn how!) before purchasing their own pair ($5 rental fee/hr for those folks).  

Note: All participants are required to sign a ‘one-time’ WAIVER for my insurance provider, please & thanks!  Renters must provide valid identification.

Walking with Poles GROUP 1

You will learn the benefits of walking with POLES, the various walking techniques plus other exercises that can be done holding POLES, including EXERCISES to improve your BALANCE!

FORMAT:

1. We will meet inside the studio where you may leave your coats & boots safely while out WALKING around the MALL!

2. We begin inside the studio with gentle, light exercises to warm up our muscles & joints (very important!); then you will learn & safely practise a few balance exercises, learning more ways to use your POLES!

3. Bathroom break first; bonus, it’s right across the hall!

3. OFF WE GO to walk around the Mall for 30 mins!  Just as a precaution, please walk in groups for safety!  

4. After the walk, you will return to the studio for a short period of stretching which helps prevent pain & stiffness after exercising!

The fee for the weekly meetings is $5.00/hour.

The fee to rent a pair of poles for 1 hour is an additional $5 = $10 total ONLY IF you rent a pair of POLES.
