WOMEN’S FITNESS FUN for 55+

  • Monday & Wednesday at 5:00 – 6:00 pm – Low Impact Cardio & Core Strength Class & Stretch 
  • NEW:  Mon & Wed classes also do interval training at selected classes, which will sometimes include 2-5 lb weights &/or resistance bands
    • FUN & FAST-PACED Cardiovascular workout in an air conditioned gym!  Toning & sculpting exercises, using a variety of provided equipment: light hand-held weights, wands, small balls, small hoops, sliders, stability balls, resistance bands; plus 10 minutes of abdominal work on floor, followed by a 20 min full body stretch to tranquil music.
    • Each class is different, with a huge variety of exercises to great cardio-pumping tunes! This is a ‘women’s only’ class, safe for 40+ women, and beginners of any age, who want a low impact workout.

You will need a 45-65 cm stability ball (depends on your height) or reserve ahead to borrow a loaner.  Also, please bring an exercise mat, water & clean indoor shoes.

  • This is not a cardio class so it requires less effort but works your core & abdominals in a FUN new way!
  • If unsure about balance sitting on a large ball we also offer WOBBLE Cushions on chairs as a safe alternative with the same benefits!
  • Large air conditioned gym!  Includes 10 minutes of abdominal work on floor, followed by a 20 min full body stretch to tranquil music.

  • Each seated, 30 minute class gently & slowly, warms up the joints & muscles. We focus on breathing slowly & deeply throughout the class, moving our bodies gently through slow graceful movements.  
  • Highly beneficial to participants with: rheumatoid or osteo arthritis; osteoporosis; limited mobility; COPD or lung problems; or any other health related conditions requiring a slower, more gentle form of exercise.

  • Full body muscle & bone Strengthening program using hand-held Weights & Resistance bands (we are careful in choosing the appropriate weight for each individual).  Beneficial for fall prevention!
  • This popular class begins with a gentle warming up of the joints & muscles, and ends with a full body stretch to improve flexibility.
