My First 30-Minute Seated Class!
Hi, Sally from Sally Sunshine Gentle Fitness here in Ontario, and I’m so happy you’ve joined me today. If you’re a senior (or just want to move gently and safely), this class was made with YOU in mind.
Back in 2020 I filmed my very first chair yoga video, and it’s still one of my favourites because it’s slow, kind to your body, and completely safe. No standing, no twisting that hurts, and no pressure to do anything that doesn’t feel good. You can do the whole 30 minutes right from your favourite chair at home!
Whether you want to ease morning stiffness, warm up before a walk or housework, or gently stretch at the end of the day, this class is perfect. And the best part? You can do it every single day if you like.

Safety First – Always!
Your comfort and safety matter most to me. Here are the important rules we follow in every class (and I repeat them often in the video so you never forget):

Remember: It’s perfectly okay to pause the video, rest, or just watch a section again. There’s no rush and no “perfect” way – only your way!
What You’ll Do in This 30-Minute Class
We start nice and slow so your body has time to wake up gently. Here’s a friendly overview of the gentle movements we’ll enjoy together:

Everything is done while seated, and I show you easy ways to make each move even gentler if you need to.
How to Get the Most from Your Practice
- Wear comfortable clothes and have a glass of water nearby.
- Place your chair on a non-slip surface.
- Smile and say something kind to yourself while you move – you’re doing something wonderful for your body!
- After the class, stand up slowly and notice how much looser you feel.
